Why can’t I connect to my EllieGrid pill box?

• First, verify that Bluetooth is enabled in your phone settings. Once you have checked this, all other Bluetooth actions will be handled from within the app. In the app, initiate a pill box scan (press Bluetooth icon in upper-right corner of Home screen). You should see your “EllieGrid” in the scan list. Select it to establish a connection.
• If you are using Android and are still unable to connect, verify that the precise/fine Location Permission is enabled for the EllieGrid app in your phone settings.
• If you are using iOS 13+, verify that the Bluetooth permission is enabled for the EllieGrid app in your phone settings.

Why does my EllieGrid pill box keep losing connection?

• The pill box will lose connection when it is no longer within your phone’s Bluetooth range, or if the app is force closed. To make it easier to reconnect, make sure that Auto-Connect (Foreground) is enabled in the app’s pill box experimental settings. This auto-connect feature allows the app to automatically connect to the previously connected pill box when the app is brought into the foreground. This means that your phone and pill box will automatically reconnect once the app is opened and within Bluetooth range of the pill box.

Why is my pill box not ringing at the correct alarm time?

• If your pill box is not ringing at the correct alarm time, it is most likely that it is not properly synced to the app. If this is the case, perform an Alarm Synchronization. Go to Pill Box settings, Advanced Alarm Settings, and then scroll down until you see Alarm Synchronization. This alarm synchronization feature checks for any discrepancies between the app and pill box alarms. This will overwrite the pill box's alarm data to match the app's alarm data (synchronize) ensuring the pill box rings at the correct time.

Why am I not receiving the mobile app notification?

• EllieGrid notifications work like other app push notifications. First, make sure that notifications are enabled in your phone settings. Second, make sure notifications are also enabled in the EllieGrid app settings. If both settings are enabled, you should receive a push notification at your designated alarm time.
• If you still seem to not see the notification, it is possible they are disappearing before you notice them. In your phone notification settings, make sure that Banner style is set to Persistent. A persistent banner will stay on the screen until you tap or dismiss it, while a temporary banner will remain for a few seconds then disappear.

Why is it not holding a charge?

• If your pill box is not holding a charge, it is possible that the internal battery has become disconnected. Accessing the battery is not a straightforward process. Please contact our customer support team and we will send you further instructions on how to resolve this.
• Once the battery is reconnected, make sure to connect to your pill box from the app and allow the battery to fully charge.

• If your pill box is not showing up in the scan, you may need to reset the box and reauthenticate (sign out of the app, then sign back in). You can reset Ellie by carefully inserting a small point (like a paper clip) into the left-most speaker hole located on the right side of the charging port, and pressing the reset button. You will know the pill box is in a reset state if a red light starts blinking.

Why is there a red solid light on the top left corner of the pill box?

• The red light seems to be related to the experimental Auto-Connect (Background) feature, depending on your phone and OS version. To resolve this, you will need to reset the EllieGrid pill box by pressing the reset button in the left-most speaker hole located on the right side of the charging port. Next, disable the Auto-Connect (Background) feature in the app’s experimental pill box settings. After turning off auto-connect, you should be able to connect and stay connected.
